Summer Festival in Madison Nebraska

On Wednesday, July 13th,  the city of Madison held its first summer festival at the elementary school in the same city. Leticia Rodriguez, a community leader in that area and president of the Madison Latino Center organization, the Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, businesses in the area, and teachers and parents, organized this event. This event was also an opportunity to thank Karen Estrada y Juan Jesus Ramirez Orozco, teachers of the Migrant Program.

Leticia Rodriguez expressed her infinite gratitude to all the teachers who made the program and the event possible, so she also recognized and thanked the teachers of the Migrant program.

“This is a very important event for Madison, but above all for our children and parents. I want to thank all the businesses in Madison that support our projects: La Hacienda Tienda Restaurant, Taquería Scorpion, La Güerita, Lauderback Pharmacy, Tu Casa Restaurant, Grupo Jovenes para Cristo, Pizza Hut de Madison. Also, a deep appreciation for Madison Elementary School and Madison Public Schools, their teachers, and volunteers for their unconditional support and dedication to our children.  I also want to thank the Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Commission on Latino Americans, Mundo Latino, and the Nebraska Public Power District for all the support they provided,” says Leticia Rodriguez

Yesenia Peck and Guadalupe Millan, president, and vice president, respectively, of the Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, thanked the Latino Center of Madison, Leticia Rodriguez, the schools, and above all congratulated the Madison Community for the great effort to grow and keep alive a thriving and entrepreneurial Latino community.

“This is where I grew up, studied, and am an alumna of Madison Elementary Schools. Here I lived a spectacular childhood full of love and a sense of community. Today I am an entrepreneur serving the community through the Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. I live in Omaha, but I don’t forget my Mexican roots, much less my town of Madison,” says Guadalupe Millan, vice president of the Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Yesenia Peck, president of the Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, greeted and congratulated Madison and its residents. I highlight the efforts of the Latino community in the area and greatly salute the Latin American Commission for its 50 years, the same ones that supported the event.

The event was also attended by  AMWAY of Omaha, and the representative of the Columbus Community Hospital, Patricia Castro.
