Diva’s Two Cents – Not now, later
This week has been a very interesting week for us. We lost two well known movie stars. Olivia Newton-John, 73. and Anne Heche, 53…ok don’t know about you but I grew listening and watching Olivia Newton John, play Sandy alongside John Travolta on the play Greece , so when I heard about her death it saddened me. I also followed Ann Heche throughout her career, so when I was informed of her car accident that lead to her death, it saddened me as well. ONE WITH HEALTH ISSUES AND THE OTHER A FREAK ACCIDENT…
Why? Because it helps put in perspective that we are all going to DIE. Yes, not if we WILL die, but WHEN we will die… And that WHEN is not known to anyone human.
So it helps puts things in perspective …for example.
I was invited to a fun filled event last week and I declined because I had a work commitment so I replied “ NOT NOW LATER”.
I was at the Team Mobile store the other day and looked over at the newest version of a phone and though I am in DIRE need of an upgrade I caught myself telling the salesperson, “NOT NOW, LATER”.
Those of you who follow me know I have lost 20lbs in two months as I have been trying to eat healthier ON THIS PROGRAM I JOINED, so when a colleague of mine bought in a box of cookies to the office though I was tempted to have a bite, I immediately responded..…”NOT NOW LATER”.…
Ok, I am in no way insinuating that we should be careless and buy things we cannot afford, nor ignore work obligations, and indeed not eat foods that will spiral our health in the wrong direction, but reflecting on my response, I thought…really??? “NOT NOW LATER”???
What am I really saying to the world and to myself? That I have control over the” LATER” in life?
What about you? What are you saying “NOT NOW, LATER” to?
Do you have a hobby you want to take up?
Do you have a course of study you wanted to try out for?
Do you have a place you wanted to visit?
Do you have a goal you wanted to achieve but put it on the shelf of life for “LATER”?
IF NOT NOW, WHEN? IF NOT YOU, THEN WHO? (YOU’RE THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN DICTATE YOUR SCHEDULE.)
Now that I have you thinking…if you were to die as a result of an accident, will your loved ones be able to continue the quality of life they have had with you? If not, allow me to go over reasonable accidental death benefit plans that will satisfy that need. No obligation, do it NOW not LATER…
