HSI Laredo, multi-agency investigation leads to guilty plea of Texas woman for impersonating a nurse
Nora Nely Avila, 35, pleaded guilty on January 3 to making false statements related to health care matters, following an investigation by the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the FBI, the Office of the Inspector General from the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Labor’s Office of Inspector General, and the Texas Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
