TOYO: Recognizing Commitment and Excellence

The “Ten Outstanding Young Omahans” (TOYO) program celebrates individuals between 21 and 40 years old who stand out for their exemplary commitment to the improvement of the community and excel in their professional careers. TOYO will be recognizing multiple young people on February 8 in an event that will emphasize the great contribution of each of them in our state. For 88 years, the Omaha Jaycees have highlighted incredible individuals in Greater Omaha, being recognized nationally and internationally for their local contributions.

The selection process focuses on reviewing individuals under 40, nominated by their peers, who reside and work in Omaha and connected suburban areas such as Bellevue, Gretna, and Papillion. Specific industries or areas of impact are not required, valuing the integrity of the individual and the impact of their contributions. The team and judges review hundreds of applications annually, selecting Omaha’s Ten Outstanding Youth at the annual event.

Additionally, the panel of judges chooses a recipient of a monetary grant to support the charity of their choice. The amount varies annually, driven by support from community partners and event participation. Among those recognized is Javier Saldaña, an outstanding leader who exemplifies leadership, strength, and empowerment for the Omaha Latino community. His unique role reflects TOYO’s commitment to highlighting those who, through their selfless actions and professional achievements, leave a positive mark on the community and inspire future generations. The TOYO not only celebrates individual achievements but also fosters a network of leaders committed to the continuous improvement of Greater Omaha.

This program not only honors the present but also advances a promising future by recognizing and supporting outstanding young people who, through their dedication, contribute to the well-being and development of the Omaha community.

Congratulations to all those selected!
