Omaha Scam Alert
The Omaha Police Department is warning about a scam where stolen vehicles from other states are being sold online to local residents. The cars, often new models and high-value trucks, have falsified identification numbers (VIN) and are offered at very low prices. Police are urging the public to be cautious when purchasing vehicles online, especially if the price seems too good to be true.
If you are considering purchasing a vehicle online, research the car’s history and be sure to check its paperwork. If you suspect a scam, contact authorities immediately to protect yourself and avoid falling victim to this fraud.
