Celebrando Siouxland: Introducing the 2024 Parade Marshall, Yesica Saldana
We proudly announce that Yesica Saldana will be the Celebrando Siouxland 2024 Parade Marshall, in recognition of her significant contributions to the Dakota County Health Department. Yesica’s work has been instrumental in helping the Latino and immigrant communities access vital information and resources, enabling them to make informed health decisions.
One of Yesica’s most notable achievements was her leadership in the Minority Health Assessment, a critical initiative that highlighted the specific needs of the immigrant community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Yesica played a key role in exposing health disparities affecting Dakota County and became a strong advocate for minority health at the state level.
In addition to her work at the health department, Yesica dedicates her evenings to teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) at Northeast Community College, empowering others through education. Her commitment to the community extends beyond her professional work; in 2022, she was a key volunteer for the Celebrate Siouxland event and has been actively involved with Unity in Action since 2021.
Yesica’s multifaceted contributions make her an invaluable asset to our community. Her dedication and passion for improving the lives of others reflect the values we celebrate in this parade. We congratulate Yesica on this well-deserved honor and thank her for her tireless service to our community!
