The Salvation Army celebrates Christmas in July with the Sioux City Explorers

(Sioux City, IA, July 28, 2016)  The Salvation Army has teamed up with the Sioux City Explorers to bring Christmas in July to the Siouxland community. The game will start on Sunday, July 31st at 2:00pm at Lewis and Clark Park, home of the Explorer’s, against their I-29 rivals the Sioux Falls Canaries

Tickets for this event are $10.00 prior to the day of the game for general admission. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go directly back to The Salvation Army to assist in carrying out their mission in the Siouxland community.

Throughout the game there will be many activities to bring the spirit of the Christmas season. The Salvation Army will be there ringing bells with their iconic Red Kettles. Santa will make a stop to take pictures and check to see if you are being naughty or nice! The Sioux City Explorers will have Christmas games and music as well as decorate the stadium with Christmas cheer.

The Salvation Army has been serving Siouxland since 1888.  Its programs include emergency food and clothing assistance, disaster preparedness and response, counseling and life skills programs, Permanent Supportive Housing for chronically homeless and disabled individual’s, after-school programs, summer camping experiences for children and, along with its programs for Christian worship and spiritual growth and development.
