Two new Latino officers have just joined the South Sioux City Police Department.
These agents Dávalos and Carrillo took the corresponding oath of loyalty and were received by their new colleagues.
The relatives of the new officers were present at the emotional ceremony.
Citizens of South Sioux expressed their support on social networks for this initiative that values incorporating citizens of Latin American origin into the US security forces, banishing old myths and prejudices.
One woman wrote: “Happy to live in So. Sioux City. I was introduced in person to one of these officers.”
