“Click it or ticket” Program May 18 – May 31, 2020 in South Sioux City, NE (English and Spanish Version)
The South Sioux City Police Dept., in conjunction with the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office will be conducting Click-It or Ticket! Click-It or Ticket is a national enforcement effort being performed by law enforcement agencies in hopes of raising awareness of the use of seatbelts and child restraint systems. The NDOT-HSO has provided a mini-grant funding overtime for off duty police officers to work their off time providing extra patrols out on the streets. They will be searching for drivers not using their occupational restraint systems. Extra patrols will be out May 18th through May 31, 2020. Enforcement will be during day time and night time with a minimum of 60% of the enforcement conducted between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM. The goal of the enforcement is to reduce the number of injuries sustained in motor vehicle crashes through increased use of safety systems.

El Departamento de Policía de South Sioux City, junto con la Oficina de Seguridad de Carreteras del Departamento de Transporte de Nebraska, realizará Click-It o Ticket! Click-It or Ticket es un esfuerzo nacional de aplicación de la ley que realizan las agencias de aplicación de la ley con la esperanza de crear conciencia sobre el uso de cinturones de seguridad y sistemas de retención infantil. El NDOT-HSO ha proporcionado una mini-subvención para el pago de horas extras para que los oficiales de policía fuera de servicio trabajen su tiempo libre proporcionando patrullas adicionales en las calles. Buscarán conductores que no usen sus sistemas de restricción ocupacional. Las patrullas adicionales saldrán del 18 al 31 de mayo de 2020.
