Siouxland Salvation Army to open daytime warming center
SIOUXLAND SALVATION ARMY TO OPEN DAYTIME WARMING CENTER
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (February 22, 2022) – To combat the extremely cold temperatures over the next two days, The Salvation Army is opening a warming center for those in need. The Salvation Army opens these centers from time to time when:
- The temperature or wind chill reaches 0∞ or BELOW during the winter months
Hot coffee, water and snacks will be provided for those who visit the center. The center is available for the community to access at:
The Salvation Army of Sioux City
1415 Villa Ave. Sioux City, Iowa 51103
Monday-Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Salvation Army opens warming centers for those who are most vulnerable in our community. Temperatures such as those being experienced in Siouxland this week can be dangerous for the elderly, the very young, and those with specific medical conditions. The Salvation Army reminds people to plan ahead when such temperatures are in the forecast, especially if they don’t have access to a warm, safe place for relief.
