A family will have their own home thanks to Siouxland Habitat for Humanity

Sioux City, IA. The organization “Siouxland Habitat for Humanity” (SHH) made the dream of Ahmed Said Hajji and his wife Zeynaba Bala come true by giving them a brand new home located at 1805 Missouri View Lane, South Sioux City.
Shayla Becker, executive director of the organization, stressed that SHH’s goal is to build homes for low-income people.
The woman explained: “We do everything with our cash flow, so we need donations, grants, and volunteers to keep this going.”
Becker explained the steps to apply for housing in Sioux City: “We ask families to complete a form, and then we do a personal interview with them. “If everything is fine, we will start house construction.”
The criteria for choosing a suitable applicant are simple: the person needs shelter and wants to work alongside SHH.
The families who will receive the home must help build the house they will later live in and agree to pay a reasonable mortgage. Photo Siouxland Habitat for Humanity.
