Back to School Event in South Sioux City

South Sioux City, NE. Most students will be heading back to school this week and it’s important that they start off on the right foot. That’s why several local businesses in South Sioux City are giving back to students with free haircuts and backpacks to help families prepare for the new school year.

One of those businesses is Aaron’s Barber Shop, a business that held the Second Annual Back to School Drive last Sunday, August 7, as part of a new tradition that grows each year. Its owner, Aaron González and Nicolás De León from Boys Club of Sioux City are the founders of this event and they were excited to be able to give back to the community with this initiative in which hundreds of children and their families lined up for the backpack draw which were filled with school supplies such as colored markers, glue sticks and scissors. Gifts that led some families to stay up to two and a half hours in line before the event began, and who were grateful for this support, especially at a time when supplies can be quite expensive.

In this sense, Aaron González, owner of the barbershop, spoke out before the inflation of the national economy that has many families quite dismayed with the finances of the home, which motivated these young entrepreneurs to do their bit for the benefit of those families who need a break from the expenses of going back to school.

In addition, at the end of the day several bicycles were also raffled for the little ones.

Aaron’s Barber Shop has partnered with several other area businesses for food, entertainment, haircuts, drinks and more. Businesses that have joined the cause and helped contribute to its success include Provision Designs, Pepsi, United Real Estate Solutions, Short Staffed, Beercan Alley, Rebo’s, Key Club, C-Note Bankin, TGS, The Market Delivers, Perdue Farm , Major’s, Tyson, 1st Choice Tinting, Mi Familia, Seth Hansen and he Don’$ Sports Bar & Grill.
